Naughton's Biography
Rosemary “Rosie” Naughton
has spent the last twenty years in law enforcement. She started her career
in a small municipal police department and enjoyed a variety of assignments
ranging from D.A.R.E. Officer, to domestic violence investigator and
instructor. She then moved to college law enforcement and worked for both
private and state institutions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Working through the ranks, she obtained the position of Chief in 1996 at
Framingham State College and then was hired by Worcester State College as
Chief of College Police in 2001.
Chief Naughton is a member
of M.A.C.L.E.A. (Massachusetts Association of College Law Enforcement
Administrators). She is also a member of IACLEA (International Association
of College Law Enforcement Administrators). She served as a member of the
Board of Directors for NECUSA organization from 2003 - 2007. She was
selected as one the National Incident Command System instructors to teach
college administrators, health professionals, public safety officials, and
police officers how to handle disasters. Chief Naughton has taught this
Simulation –Based Command Post Training around the country for the last two
years. This program is funded by both IACLEA and Homeland Security and its
curriculum is approved by the Office of Domestic Preparedness.
She obtained her B.S. in
Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College and earned her M.Ed. in Health
Education with C.H.E.S. certification from Worcester State College. Chief
Naughton serves as an adjunct faculty for the Health Science Department at
Worcester State College.
