Emergency Preparedness and
Response
The Emergency Response Plan for the College Community has been designed as a
contingency plan for the Worcester State College community to follow during
campus emergencies. While the plan does not cover every conceivable
emergency situation, it does supply the basic guidelines necessary to cope
with most campus emergencies. It is essential for the Worcester State
College community to be familiar with, and cooperate fully with the
Worcester State College Emergency Response Plan.
Campus emergency operations will be conducted within the framework of
college procedures. Any exception to these emergency management procedures
will be conducted by, or with approval of, those college administrators
directing and/or coordinating emergency operations. A copy of this plan may
be obtained by emailing your request to
wscpolice@worcester.edu. A copy
of the plan is distributed during student orientation and is provided to all
personnel and also available as a PDF by

here.
The goals of the Emergency Response Plan are:
-
To provide
management plans and procedures that most effectively protect the health,
safety, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and the public, protect
the environment, and mitigate potential damage in the event of an
emergency.
-
To provide a
coordinated response to emergencies which may impact students and/or the
environment while paying special attention to the safety and security
needs of members of the college community.
-
To provide for the
essential needs of students and employees during and following an
emergency.
-
To provide
training and regularly review procedures to maintain a state of readiness
and provide effective response should an emergency occur.
-
To use critical
emergency incidents, when appropriate, as teachable experiences to enhance
the quality of life for all those impacted by the incident.
