Albin M. Nockunas

Died October 17,2000 after 10 years of service to the department.

Officer Nockunas was a longtime Worcester city police officer. He was an officer for 40years, retiring as a detective in 1990. He received the Medal of Valor, also known as the Colonel Scott Award. Officer Nockunas was a former assistant Boy Scout master, and was a foster father for 25 years for more than 31 children.

Officer Nockunas worked for the Worcester State College Police Department from 1990 until his death in 2000. He will always be remembered as the happy person with a great smile who greeted many visitors at the gatehouse.
