COMPUTER WORKSHOPS

AVAILABLE TO PEOPLE FIFTY AND OVER

(Worcester, MA – September 8, 2003) The Intergenerational Urban Institute, in collaboration with SeniorWeb Solutions, will offer computer workshops at Worcester State College for people 50 and over.  Carol Greenfield and Len Heier of SeniorWeb Solutions, an education and support company that focuses exclusively on the elder population have presented elder-friendly workshops at Simmons, Bentley, Boston College, Brandeis and will return to Worcester State College this fall for the following workshops:

Explorations in Cyberspace (five sessions) Cost: $75

Persons with little or no experience are welcome, even the more experienced user will find this helpful.  Tuesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Oct.  7, 2003:    Searching the Web, finding what you want, when you want it

Oct. 14, 2003:   News, Arts and Entertainment on the Web

Oct. 21, 2003:   Health Information on the Web

Oct. 28, 2003:   Travel Planning on the Web

Nov. 4, 2003:    Comparison Shopping Online

**Recommend taking all five sessions, but may sign up individually, $20.00/workshop

 

Computer Basics (six sessions) Cost: $90

If you have little or no computer experience, this is the course for you.  In a gentle and respectful environment, you will learn keyboard and mouse skills, Windows and word processing basics, and an introduction to e-mail and the Web.  You will also learn about options for buying a computer and alternatives for e-mail and Web access.  Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
