Worcester State Foundation Welcomes Four New
Members
(WORCESTER – July 19, 2005) The Worcester State Foundation welcomed four
local individuals to serve on its current 34-member board. As board
members, James D. Glickman, Kenneth P. Heekin, Brendan J. King and Mary C.
Ritter will help to develop resources, financial and otherwise, for
Worcester State College's (WSC) continuing growth as an academic institution
serving Central Massachusetts and the Commonwealth.
James D. Glickman, a resident of
Holden, MA, is the president and a partner of the Worcester-based commercial
real estate services company of Glickman Real Estate, Inc. He oversees the
general direction of the company as well as brokerage, property management
and real estate development projects. He is a licensed real estate broker.
He attended Worcester Academy and Northeastern University and has achieved
the professional designation of CPM, Certified Property Manager.
Kenneth P. Heekin,
a resident of Princeton, served as Vice President of Development and
External Relations at WSC from 1996 to 2002. He played a pivotal role in
strengthening the College’s financial foundation, growing WSC’s endowment
from $500,000 to more than $6 million during his tenure. Prior to his
service at the college, Heekin served as headmaster at a number of private
schools before establishing and growing a successful development foundation
at St. Vincent Hospital.
Brendan J. King,
a resident of Princeton, MA, is a partner in the Worcester law firm of
Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio, where he chairs the Estate, Business and Tax
Planning Department. King is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association's
Tax Subcommittee and the Worcester County Bar Association's Estate and
Business Planning Council.
Mary C. Ritter, a resident of Holden, MA, is Senior Director of
Strategic Planning and Implementation at Fallon Community Health Plan. She
oversees development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including
product development, customer service, and market expansion. Prior to
joining Fallon Community Health Plan, Ritter served as Vice President of
Regional Operations for Hanover Insurance Company. Ritter is a graduate of
the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
