Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE College Financing Seminar (Worcester – January 6, 2004) The Latino Education Institute, home of the Worcester Working Coalition for Latino Students at Worcester State College, and the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) will be co-sponsoring a seminar on college financing on Monday, January 12, 2004. The seminar will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the Blue Lounge of the Student Center Building at Worcester State College. A bilingual representative from MEFA will discuss various aspects of the financial aid process. The seminar will teach parents how to fill out financial aid application forms, the process of filing the appropriate forms, how financial aid is calculated and awarded, how to compare financial aid award letters, as well as making alternative financing decisions. The seminar will be conducted in Spanish and English for Latino high school juniors and seniors and their parents as part of the Institute’s Latino School to College Initiative.
