ADULT STUTTERERS SUPPORT GROUP ESTABLISHED
(WORCESTER – April 13, 2005) Worcester State College Assistant Professor Ken
Melnick, Ph.D., has established a local support group for adult stutterers
as a way to provide mutual support and to share information. Melnick will
hold the first meeting 7 to 9 p.m., Monday April 25, 2005 in room 122D of
the Ghosh Science and Technology Center at Worcester State College, 486
Chandler Street. The group will then be held every last Monday of every
month throughout the year. The support group is free and open to the public.
There
are currently 70 chapters of the National Stutterers Association across the
country. The meeting on April 25 will be the beginning of a new local
chapter in Worcester.
Melnick is nationally certified by the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed to practice speech-language
pathology in the Commonwealth. In addition, he has a certificate of
specialty recognition in fluency disorders (AB)
