Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RESIDENCE LIFE DIRECTOR HIRED
(Worcester,
MA – March 17, 2003) Mr. David N. Baldwin has been appointed as the
new Director of Residence Life at Worcester State College. Mr. Baldwin
comes to this position with more than 10 years of experience in residential
life. Most recently, he held the position of Associate Director of
Residence Life and Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs at Framingham State
College, Framingham, MA.
Mr. Baldwin
will assist in the College’s plans to construct a new 358-bed residence hall
which is scheduled to break ground in April, 2003 and be completed for
occupancy in the fall of 2004. The common space of the new residence hall
will include a multi-purpose room, student lounge, a central mailroom,
Residential Life Office, Campus Police Office, and coffee shop. One wing of
the first floor is open to the college community allowing outside access to
the Campus Police Office. When completed, it is anticipated that about
1,000 students will reside on campus, and the new residence hall will
contribute greatly to campus life.
Baldwin
received his BS and MS in Accounting from The College of Saint Rose in
Albany, NY where he also served as a Residence Life Assistant; Resident
Assistant; Coordinator of Conferences, Special Events and Housing; and the
Resident Director. His experience also includes the positions of Resident
Director and Assistant Director of Residence Life at Bridgewater State
College.
