INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED ARTISTS
TO PERFORM IN “JAZZ NIGHT”
(Worcester,
MA – April 14, 2003) Internationally recognized child protégé, Matt Savage,
and three-time Grammy nominated Danilo Pérez will take the stage for “Jazz
Night” at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26 in the Worcester State College
Auditorium.
The
extraordinary Panamanian pianist and composer, Danilo Pérez, is among the
most influential and dynamic musicians of our time. In just over a decade,
his distinctive blend of Pan-American jazz (covering the music of the
Americas, Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and folkloric and world music) has
attracted critical acclaim and loyal audiences. Pérez is making a decidedly
fresh imprint on contemporary music.
At ten years
old, Matt Savage has been amazing audiences everywhere and setting the jazz
world on fire. Matt suffers from autism spectrum disorder, a milder case
than the classis autism, a disability that impairs social interaction. His
mother was amazed when four years ago; he taught himself how to play the
piano. He has written 30 original jazz songs, generating more than $5,000
for autism research. He has met and played for many of jazz’s greatest
musicians and has five CDs. He will perform with The Matt Savage Trio.
