STUDENTS MOUNT EXHIBIT

AT WORCESTER HISTORICAL MUSEUM

(Worcester, MA – April 14, 2005) -- In recognition of the 130th anniversary of its founding, students at Worcester State College have been working with the curator of the Worcester Historical Museum to mount an exhibit at the museum detailing the history of the college’s predecessor – the Worcester Normal School (1874-1932).  The exhibit - A Community and a College: A Shared Heritage in Worcester - will open April 28 and close August 20, 2005.

The highlight of the opening reception on April 28 will be presentations by students in period dress who will read excerpts from Worcester Normal School apprentice teacher diaries of the late 1800s.

The Museum is located at 30 Elm Street in Worcester.
