Jill Dagilis '78 To Speak At Celebration of Service

(Worcester, MA – April 9, 2007) Jill Dagilis '78, Executive Director of the Worcester Community Action Council and former Commissioner of Health and Human Services for the city of Worcester, will give the keynote address at a Worcester State College (WSC) community service celebration at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in the Student Center North/South Auditorium.

The event, “Celebration of Service Across the Ages at Worcester State College, ” is sponsored by the WSC Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement and the Intergenerational Urban Institute to recognize individuals, young and old, who are engaged with service in the Worcester community and to inspire others to serve.

The Deignan Award for Intergenerational Community Service will be awarded to the teachers and students of the ESG (Education, Service & Government) Academy at South High Community School.

The Worcester State Chorale under the direction of Dr. Christie Nigro will provide entertainment. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 508-929-8900.
