Worcester State College Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Center for Business and Industry offers Accelerated Certificate Programs
(Worcester, MA – May 27, 2003) For the first time since it was established, the Center for Business and Industry at Worcester State College will offer accelerated certificate programs in July and August, 2003 for Project Management, Business Analysis, and the Dynamics of Management and Leadership. “People may wish to sign up for an individual workshop or a complete certificate program this summer,” said Institute Director Thomas Belanger. “We can accommodate individuals’ business needs.” A Project Management Certificate can be earned in just three weeks and includes the following workshops: Getting it Right the First Time: Detailed Project Management, Project Leadership and Team Development, Managing Project Risk, Project Procurement and Contracting, Project Execution and Control and PMP Review (Optional). A Business Analysis Certificate can be earned in just six weeks this summer with workshops in Collaborative Business Analysis, Requirement-Based Design, Listening Skills, Negotiating With, and Influencing Others, Business Process Mapping and Optimization, Problem Analysis and Resolution, Facilitating JAD Sessions, Test Development for Quality Results, and Successful Project Management. The Dynamics of Management and Leadership Certificate can also be earned in just six and includes the following workshops: Making the Transition to Management, Building Customer Loyalty, Process-Centered Change, Performance Planning and Review, Coaching for Improved Performance, Effective Management Presentations, Managing My Time and Meetings, Successful Project Management, Finance and Budgeting Essentials, and Leading and Implementing Change. The Center for Business and Industry at Worcester State College provides skill-based solutions to individuals and organizations of all sizes. The Center for Business and Industry also will be adding several new programs in the near future: Over 400 online, non-credit training programs; Bookkeeping Certificate and Management Briefings.
