Candace Allen Scola
was a bright engaging student at Worcester State College when her
education–and her life–was cut short by an unknown assailant more than two
years ago. Her violent death sent shockwaves through her classmates and
professors.
Members of Gamma
Theta Upsilon, the Geography Honor Society, of which Scola was vice
president, created and dedicated a meditation garden and the Women’s Studies
Program raised funds to endow a lecture series in her name for the
prevention of violence against women.
Funds are used to bring speakers to campus, publicize the event and raise
awareness. T
This
event is free and open to the public. Donations to the Candace Allen Scola
Lecture Endowment Fund will be accepted.
