Worcester State College Voted "Best College"
Two Years in a row by Worcester Magazine

(Worcester, MA – May 8, 2007) Worcester State College (WSC) is proud to announce that is has once again received the honor of “Best College” by Worcester Magazine. In the last five years WSC has received this honor three times – 2002, 2006, 2007. Worcester Magazine announced that 116 businesses and individuals were named “Best Of Worcester” Award winners in the April 26^th issue of the magazine. Winners were selected by more than 1,200 Worcester Magazine readers, who were given the opportunity to vote for the “The Best Of Worcester” through the publication’s website www.WorcesterMagazine.com.

The winners were honored at an awards ceremony and party held at Carrington Hall at Canal Marketplace on Harding Street in Worcester on May 7. More than 300 community and business leaders attended the event to celebrate the winners. Award plaques were presented by Michael Warshaw, the publication’s editor-in-chief.

Winners represented the “Best Of Worcester” in the categories of Food & Drink (45 winners); Entertainment (20 winners); Merchandise/Services (35 winners); Media (6 winners; and People (10 winners).

Worcester Magazine was founded in 1976 and acquired by Worcester Publishing Ltd. in 1992. Worcester Magazine is a three-time winner of the New England Press Association’s “Newspaper of the Year” Award. With a circulation of 34,000 copies and readership of more than 163,000, Worcester Magazine is the leading news, arts and entertainment weekly newspaper in central Massachusetts.
