FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TWO NAMED TO WORCESTER STATE COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
(Worcester, MA – August 21,
2007) Governor Deval Patrick has appointed Ronald Valerio of Auburn and
John Brissette of Worcester to five-year terms on the Worcester State
College Board of Trustees.
Valerio, who replaces
Brissette as alumni representative to the Board, is a 1975 graduate of
Worcester State College and holds a master’s degree in Business
Administration from Anna Maria College. He is a senior manager of the
Medical Packaging and Component Business Division of UFP Technologies, Inc.
Valerio is active in many professional organizations and sits of the boards
of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, the Guild of St. Agnes Child Care
Association, and Auburn Youth and Family Services. Currently president of
the Worcester County Deputy Sheriff Association, Valerio is a past president
of the Worcester State College Alumni Association’s Advisory Board (AAAB)
Brissette, a 1988 graduate of
Worcester State College, is an account executive with Braley and Wellington
Insurance Agency Corp., with direct responsibility for managing the
insurance programs for 15 area cities and towns. From 1996-2000, Brissette
served on the national advance staff for Vice President Al Gore and Mrs.
Gore and, in 2001, he traveled throughout the country serving as Mrs. Gore’s
press lead for the 2001 Democratic Convention. A past president of the
Worcester State College AAAB, Brissette serves as that organization’s
liaison for state and local officials.
