Worcester State College News Item

Released 2/2/2007

The Center for Community Media and Worcester Indymedia will present the documentary, i, at 6:30 p.m., on February 8, 2007  in the Ghosh Science and Technology Building, Multimedia Auditorium, room 102, at Worcester State College.

The product of four years of work, with footage from three continents, this feature length documentary is a mediation on the relationship between media and power as it is manifested by Indymedia, the world’s largest all volunteer network of media activists.

The film follows the first year of a small collective in Buenos Aires struggling with assassinations, a collapsing economy, and a whirlwind of political upheaval.  i is not just the first major documentary to explore Indymedia as a phenomenon in its own right, but the first to see the network as a unique key to understand the deeper power and pitfalls of radical media everywhere.

Raphael from Rhode Island Indymedia will be present to answer questions after the screening.
