Worcester State College has a
unique opportunity for students, professors and community leaders to share
thoughts, ideas and research during an Environmental Conference offered for
the Colleges of the Worcester Consortium.
The Environmental Conference
is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., April 20, in the Multimedia
Auditorium in the Ghosh Science & Technology Center at WSC. A free lunch
will be served with registration.
To register: contact

Panelists will include Deb Cary,
director of MA Audubon’s Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester, Peggy Middaugh of
the Regional Environmental Council, and William Sobczak, professor of
Biology at the College of the Holy Cross.
In addition, six students from
area colleges will share their experiences in research, internships and work
in the field. Student speakers will discuss measuring solar energy
potential in Worcester, working with land trusts to protect land threatened
from development, organizing students for social justice activism, and
measuring and long term monitoring of a local river.
Students are encouraged to submit
research posters for public display and time will be allowed for a general
viewing and discussions. The conference will serve as an excellent
opportunity for students, professors and citizens to meet and share points
of progress for local environmental issues.
Any questions, comments or
research poster registrations can be directed to Chris Noonan at
cnoonan1@worcester.edu or William Hansen at
