A candlelight vigil to honor those
killed and wounded in the Virginia Tech tragedy and to show support
for the entire VT community will be held on
Tuesday, April 24th at
7:00 P.M. on the Wasylean Hall outdoor patio. In case of
inclement weather the service will be held in the Seven Hills Lounge
in Wasylean Hall. There will be a sheet available for those
interested to sign messages for the VT community. There will also be
a remembrance box for those who wish to share anything from the WSC
community such as poems, songs, WSC memorabilia or anything that
could show our solidarity with them. The sheet along with the
remembrance box will be sent to Virginia Tech.
In addition, a collection for the
“Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund” will be taken from April 25-May 2. The
fund has been set up to support grief counseling, memorials, funeral
expenses and other needs for the family and friends of those lost.
If you would like to have your contribution included with others
from the Worcester State College community you may send a check made
payable to Worcester State College with
“Virginia Tech Hokie Spirit
Contribution” in the memo line to the Office of
Institutional Advancement, Admin. Village Room AV102. The Virginia
Tech web site is also accepting online donations for the “Hokie
Spirit Memorial Fund” at
http://www.vt.edu/tragedy/memorial_fund.
Collection buckets will also be
available beginning Wednesday, April 25th at the
following locations: Information Desk/Print Center, Chartwells (1st
and 3rd floor Student Center), Residence Life Office,
Student Activities Office and Institutional Advancement. Thank you
in advance for any contributions you can offer.
