Seventy-four Students to be Inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Worcester State College's chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national honor society for first-year students, will welcome 74 students into its membership on Sun., Apr. 6, 2008. These students achieved a 3.5 or higher GPA during their spring 2007 or fall 2007 semester at Worcester State College, which is the GPA the national organization requires for membership. Chapter Adviser Barbara Zang, Ph.D., would like to extend an invitation to the College community to attend the induction ceremony on Apr. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Blue Lounge. Phi Eta Sigma has over 900,000 members and was founded by three distinguished Phi Beta Kappa members, professors, and administrators at the University of Illinois on March 22, 1923, to encourage and recognize high scholastic achievement among members of the freshman classes. Phi Eta Sigma is the third most senior member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
