2007 –
2008 Faculty Mini-Grant Program
The Worcester State
College Mini-Grant Program offers faculty with an opportunity to seek
college-funding for scholarly and/or creative activities that they wish to
be involved in. Each year the Mini-Grant Review Committee is
established. This group consists of seven faculty and senior administrative
officers who have volunteered to take on the task of reviewing proposals and
making recommendations to the Academic Vice President.
With the mini-grant
program entering its tenth year, this task has become more and more
difficult. To illustrate the competitive nature of this program, this
year’s committee was responsible for reviewing 59 quality proposals,
requesting over $236,000 in financial support. From that initial list,
thirty-four mini-grant projects were recommended for approval enabling 43
faculty members an opportunity to work on individual and/or joint projects.
Through the
combined efforts of both the College and the Office of Institutional
Advancement, this year we are pleased to announce that $100,000 has been
made available to provide financial support for the following projects:
