CAREER SERVICES OFFICE LAUNCHES ONLINE JOB SEARCH FOR STUDENTS AND ALUMNI

Web-based resources are making it easier for people to find a job, whether it’s a student’s first job or a professional considering a career change. With so many large job search sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com containing millions of resumes, it is easy for job seekers to feel invisible. Worcester State College now offers a more focused online job resource that features employers who are looking to hire WSC students and alumni.

The Career Services Office at WSC received a $2000 grant from Target to provide a centralized career portal, LancerLink, to the College community. Powered by College Central Network (CCN), the portal will allow WSC students and alumni to upload their resume and search jobs. Employers will also have the ability to search resumes and post available positions.

“Between juggling a job, a family and a social life there isn’t always time left for our students and alumni to come to our office to look through job listings on paper. This service will be a viable and convenient tool that will be available 24/7,” said Jackie Sproul, director of Career Services at Worcester State College.

Students, alumni and employers will be able to access the secure site, LancerLink, at no cost, through the current WSC Career Services website www.worcester.edu/careerservices/. Job postings will include full-time, part-time and summer employment in the range of entry-level to experienced.

Founded in 1996, and based in New York City, College Central Network, Inc. is the nation's leading application service provider (ASP) of career services management tools for small, mid-size and community colleges, as well as art and design schools. Currently, more than 1,750,000 students in 37 states and the District of Columbia are enrolled at over 350 colleges and universities powered by CCN's Career Services Central ASP.
