The 2% Solution - This Focus the Nation that features Stanford University climate scientist, Stephen Schneider, sustainability expert Hunter Lovins and green jobs pioneer Van Jones and youth climate leaders, for a discussion of global warming solutions. Revolution Green; a True Story of Biodiesel - "Revolution Green" is about one man's vision to manufacture biodiesel and one man's quest to use it in his big rig; it's about the American dream and how renewable energy is critical to the future of the world economy. Centered on a husband and wife from Maui, Hawaii; the film documents how in 1996, with no financial backing, they pioneered a waste to energy process that took thousands of tons of waste vegetable oil destined for the Maui landfill and refined it into ASTM certified, B100 biodiesel. This type of diesel fuel can be used in any type of diesel engine without modification. What first appeared as a simple solution to try and solve a landfill problem became the first private company in America to refine premium, B100 biodiesel and offer it to the public. Their unique way of life intertwined with a distinct ensemble of farmers, truckers, governors, business owners, actors and country music legends offer the audience a chance to explore our culture as America stands on the brink of leading the world's first, sustainable, industrial revolution. The Power of Community; How Cuba Survived Peak Oil - "The Power of Community" tells of the hardships and struggles as well as the community and creativity of the Cuban people during this difficult time. Cubans share how they transitioned from a highly mechanized, industrial agricultural system to one using organic methods of farming and local, urban gardens. It is an unusual look into the Cuban culture during this economic crisis, which they call "The Special Period." The film opens with a short history of Peak Oil, a term for the time in our history when world oil production will reach its all-time peak and begin to decline forever. Cuba, the only country that has faced such a crisis - the massive reduction of fossil fuels - is an example of options and hope. Time: Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.

Kilowatt Ours - "Kilowatt Ours" opens with Vice President Dick Cheney's energy policy speech in which Cheney makes the claim that America needs nearly 1900 new power plants in the next 20 years to meet projected electricity demands. From here, filmmaker Jeff Barrie takes viewers on a journey from the coal mines of West Virginia to the solar panel fields of Florida, as he discovers solutions to America's energy related problems. Time: Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.

Solar Energy: Saved by the Sun - With rising oil prices, there is new urgency in finding a solution to our uncertain energy future. NOVA presents the latest thinking from solar enthusiasts and skeptics as it investigates cutting-edge research developments. Time: Thursday, April 10, 2008 - Will be shown in conjunction with Kilowatt Ours.

The Great Warming - Narrated by Alanis Morissette and Keanu Reeves, "The Great Warming" is a dramatic film about climate change that sweeps around the world to reveal how a changing climate is affecting the lives of people everywhere. It has been called "the best film about global warming ever shot," and taps into the growing groundswell of public interest in this topic to present an emotional, accurate picture of our children's planet. "The Great Warming" includes hard-hitting comments from scientists and opinion-makers about America's lack of leadership in what is certainly the most critical environmental issue of the 21st century, as well as new scenes documenting the emerging voice of the American Evangelical community urging action on climate change. Time:  Thursday, April 24, 2008

Everything’s Cool - "Everything's Cool" tells the harrowing story of what it takes to talk about global warming -- the art of duking it out with collective denial, the struggle to communicate the urgency of the crisis to an indifferent public and a laggard United States government. We follow a cadre of messengers who are passionate, exasperated, driven by fear, hope and a deep appreciation for the ever shrinking window of time we have to stop global warming. Time: Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.
