WSC STUDENTS HAVE STRONG SHOWING AT
FOURTH ANNUAL COWC ART EXHIBITION

At this year's Colleges of the Worcester Consortium Art Exhibition, Juror Katherine French, director of the Danforth Museum in Framingham, chose 104 items, out of 250 submissions, for the exhibition. Of the 64 Worcester State College (WSC) entries, 46 were accepted into this competitive show. WSC Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts Catherine Wilcox-Titus served as the exhibition's curator.

The opening reception for the exhibition took place on the evening of February 15, 2008 in the ARTSWorcester Gallery where WSC Students Jamie Ivins (photography) and Mathew Angelis (relief print) were recognized with Honorable Mentions for their work.

Photography was especially strong this year from the College with 23 photographs accepted into the show. The total distribution of other categories from WSC students accepted into the show include: six relief prints, five pencil drawings, three water color, three charcoal drawings, two color pencil drawings, one pastel and one mixed media.

The exhibition will be on display in the ARTSWorcester Gallery until March 14, 2008.

The ARTSWorcester Aurora Gallery (660 Main Street) is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Extended hours are available by appointment. The gallery is closed Sunday and Monday.
