Strategies for Retirement Savings Seminar - ING Our local

Jack Finigan, will present a financial education seminar on retirement
planning on Wednesday,
December 10, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. to
1:15 p.m. in the Seven Hills Lounge in Wesleyan Hall. The program is
FREE and is not intended as a sales pitch - it is strictly for educational
purposes only to help you become aware and familiar with your retirement
options and ways to save for and supplement your retirement. Reservations

SMART Plan Meetings
Our representative, Eileen Neubert, from the State' Deferred Compensation
Plan (aka SMART Plan) will be on campus Wednesday, November 18, 2008, from
1:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. in the Sullivan Building, Room 212. Ms. Neubert will present a brief
Plan Overview and review Product Features and will also be available for individual discussions. Please call Eileen
directly to schedule an appointment at 877-457-1900, press 2, enter
extension 20083.If you are unable to
attend this meeting, we have scheduled regular monthly, on-campus meetings
with Eileen during the Fall Semester.

Enhancement to Optional Life Insurance
Effective October 1, 2008, active state employees who have a
qualified family status change during the year are able to enroll in or
increase their optional life insurance coverage without any medical review
in an amount up to four times their annual salary within 31 days of the
qualifying event. For complete information, visit the

Checks for both the state and
local bi-weekly payrolls are available every other Friday according to the
calendar and schedule posted outside the Payroll & Benefits Office.
Checks for federal college
work-study students are available every other Friday according to the schedule
posted outside the Payroll & Benefits Office. These dates alternate from the
bi-weekly schedule.
NEW -
Effective January 2009, all local payroll checks will be produced through the
state's HRCMS payroll system. All part-time employees (non-student and student,
including federal college work-study) will be paid on a bi-weekly basis every
other Friday according to the new schedule posted outside the Payroll & Benefits
Office and below.
