Vision Care is available to state employees and their dependents at no cost to the employee. Coverage is offered through the unions in conjunction with the Board of Higher Education Health and Welfare Fund.

For non-union employees, vision care is offered by the Board of Higher Education Non-Unit Employee Health and Welfare Fund. The cost of this program is included in the bi-weekly payroll deduction for the non-unit dental plan. (See dental insurance for premium rates.)

MTA/NEA (MSCA and APA) Members (Faculty, Librarians, and Administrators)

As a member of the MTA, you are automatically enrolled in the Vision One Eyecare Program (VOEP) which offers employees and their families discounts at a nationwide network of popular eyecare providers and optical shops with no claim forms required. To receive your discounts, just give the participating provider your group number: 47039.

AFSCME Members (Classified Unit I and Unit II)

As a member of the AFSCME union, you are automatically enrolled in the Davis Vision Care program. Depending on which option you choose, you may be required to pay only a co-pay to receive your vision care benefits or you may receive a reimbursement for services outside the plan. The effective date of coverage is the first day of the month 180 days following the date of hire.

New employees will be given an enrollment packet by the AFSCME union steward on campus. Additional information regarding this benefit can be obtained from the Union or by visiting the Davis Vision website at www.davisvision.com.
