Importing Files

After you have saved your graphics, text, or multimedia files to disk, open FrontPage and go to the Files menu item, then select the Import option:
Selecting the Import option will display the Import window. In this window, individual files, multiple files, and entire folders can be imported into your current FrontPage web:

The two most important options are Add File and Add Folder; the From Web option is used to import an entire web into your current site. This option is useful if you have developed a web using an application other than FrontPage.
Click the Add File button will display the following window:

In the Add File to Import List window, navigate to the file or files that you want to import in the same fashion in which you would navigate to a file in any Microsoft application's open window. In the example below, the files that will be imported are located in the "000" folder:

Files are selected by clicking with the mouse. To select multiple files, hold the control key down and click with the mouse. Click Open to add the files to the import list:

Note that the file or files selected in the previous step now are listed in the Import window. Click the Add File or Add Folder buttons to add more files to this list, or click OK to import these files into your web.
The process of adding folders is exactly the same as that of adding files. Clicking the Add Folder button will display the Browse for Folder window. Navigate to the folder that you wish to add into your FrontPage web, then select by clicking it with your mouse.

The Add Folder option is useful when you want to import an entire batch of files in one simple step.
Summary
This lesson demonstrates how you can import files into your FrontPage web. In practical terms, this function is important if you want to include graphics or multimedia into your web's design.
