ALTERNATIVES FOR INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT (A.I.D.)

What it is...
...an educational assistance program for students who may require support services in order to succeed in college.  Included in this category are low-income, ALANA* and first-generation students.*Afro-American, Latino, Asian and Native American

    Students who may require academic support to adjust to the demands of college may consider applying to A.I.D.  Typical A.I.D. students come from urban public schools and/or are the first in their families to obtain a baccalaureate degree.  As such, they may require assistance in successfully adjusting to the demands of college life

Summer Academy

    The A.I.D. summer academy is a six week residential summer program that begins in June and ends in July.  Participants
will enroll in an intensive and comprehensive program aimed at preparing students for their fall enrollment.  Workshops/courses
over the summer include English, Math and Urban Education.  Learning skills, study skills and time management concepts will
be introduced to students in class and reinforced during required structured study periods.  Upon successful completion of the
program, students will enroll at Worcester State College for the fall semester.
