Instructional Media Services

The Instructional Media Services (IMS) is located in L-203, just across from the Circulation Desk in the 2^nd floor lobby. The IMS houses all of the non-print materials owned by the Library or on reserve for course instructors, and includes the following formats: cassette tapes, slide sets, audio compact discs (CDs), and videos. The IMS also stores all of the CD-ROM discs and floppy discs that come with some circulating books.

In order to make use of the materials in the IMS, we have the appropriate equipment to utilize each format, along with a high speed cassette tape duplicating machine, and several reading machines for the visually impaired. There is also a leisure-reading study area with comfortable chairs, and a pleasant group viewing area for video assignments that are not viewed individually.

A current, valid WSC ID card is required, and must be presented in order to check out any material from the IMS, including non-print reserves. Non-print material does not circulate to students from other schools, but as a courtesy to other Worcester area colleges, we will lend videos to faculty from those schools for a 48-hour period.

* On weekends, videos are checked out from Friday to Monday with a limit of only 2 at a time
