English Language Program
The Intensive English
Language Institute, a college based program,
offers students the opportunity
to attain English language fluency and
U.S. cultural competencies to succeed
in college or university studies,
advance professionally, and reach personal
goals.

Intensive Full Time English
Classes:
The Intensive English Language
Institute (IELI) full-time Program at
Worcester State College offers Intermediate and Advanced English writing,
reading, listening and speaking skills for students with a minimum of a high
school diploma, and who wish to prepare themselves as applicants to College.
The Intensive Program includes preparation for achieving college entrance
scores on the iBT TOEFL exam with an integrated skills approach.
- Fall and Spring semesters - 14 weeks
- Two summer sessions - 5 weeks each
- Monday - Friday 9:00 - 1:00 (Some
classes may meet from 1:00-5:00)
- Classes meet 20 hours per week -
fulfills the requirements for the F-1 student visa
- Multiple Levels to accommodate student
learning
- Tuition: Fall and Spring
$2,900.00, Summer Sessions $1,400.00 for one session or $2,200.00
for both sessions - Register early and pay in full - Save $100.00!
- Application cost: $150.00
nonrefundable deposit ($100.00 will be applied to tuition).
- Books: approximately $200 - $300 per
semester
- Full time students on visas must provide proof of medical
insurance, a Worcester State College Medical Form, and pay a student
health services fee ($42.50 fall and spring semesters)before the start of classes
- Fee for parking on campus
- All classes integrate skills but have a
daily focus such as reading/writing or iBT TOEFL preparation
- Free tutoring available
- Free "Buddy" program
- Reserved seating for the iBT TOEFL Test
- Homestay program available - $150.00
Placement Fee - monthly rental fee paid to U.S. family.
- Student Identification Card allows free
or discounted access to the computer lab, library, fitness center, athletic fields, gymnasium,
and Worcester State College cultural events

Community English Part Time Classes:
The part-time Community English Language Program
at Worcester State College offers Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
English writing, reading, listening and speaking skills for students to gain
proficiency and confidence in their community, academic and professional
associations. Students with His high school diplomas are
preferred.
- Fall, spring, summer semesters - 12
weeks
- Day and Evening Classes available
(9:00-11:00 am or 6:00 - 8:30 pm)
- Classes meet twice weekly (Monday and
Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday)
- Multiple levels to accommodate student
learning
- Pre-and post testing for accurate
placement and to measure gains
- Classes include integrated skills
classes, pronunciation, and iBT TOEFL preparation
- Cost: New
Pricing Integrated Skills Classes
and Pronunciation $315 per semester plus books
Early registration cost is
$290.00 (see schedule for dates)
- iBT TOEFL Preparation $450.00 per
semester plus books.
- Parking fee for parking on campus

Worcester State College is accredited by the New England Association of
Schools and Colleges, Inc., a non-governmental, nationally recognized
organization whose affiliated institutions include elementary schools
through collegiate institutions offering postgraduate instruction.

Worcester State College (WSC) Gym
Building,
Room 205, Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.
THERE IS
CURRENTLY NO FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
FOR STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM. Our ESL
classes are non-credit bearing, and as such do not qualify for any type
of financial aid. |
