Graduate Certificate Program in Management

The Graduate Certificate Program in Management is designed for those students who would like to pursue graduate study in the field of management but who do not need a Master's in Business Administration. Consisting of 21 credits, the certificate program provides a basic foundation in management at the graduate level.

Business Administration Courses (Graduate)
BA/HC 904 Financial Management in the Health Care Organization
Prerequisites: HC 900, HC 901, HC 903
The role of finance in strategic planning for the health care organization, theory of value with special considerations for nonprofits, capital budgeting and planning, working capital and liquidity management with emphasis on reimbursement structures, pricing and other problems unique to the health-care organization.
3 credits.
BA 910 Managerial Economics for Administrators
Economics and operation of organizations; macro and micro theory, marginal analysis, price-output, and determinations.
3 credits.
BA 930 Behavioral Sciences for Administrators
Study of work-groups, intergroups, and individual behavior. Adapting human resource utilization concepts and theories, and other research findings.
3 credits.
BA 932 Operational Analysis and M.I.S.
Knowledge of management information systems including types, forms, uses, and costs. Decision-making, inventory, and PERT.
3 credits.
BA 935 Organizational Operations
Application of administrative tools to solution of logistic, operational, and production functions, utilization of technological assets.
3 credits.
BA 936 Financial Management
Application of administrative tools to problem analysis and solutions in finance; financial asset utilization.

BA 938 Marketing Management
Application of administrative tools to marketing functions from strategies to techniques.
3 credits.
BA 949 Administrative Policy Form and Strategy
Prerequisites: BA 910 or BA 935, BA 930, BA 938
Capstone integrative course designed to develop administrative skills, and implementation of strategies for organizations.
