March 1st application deadline. Applications received after this date will
be given full consideration for maximum funding as long as resources are

Federal Stafford Loan programs is available to all late applicants who qualify. Required
Application Materials For
grant, loan and work study programs, the following 2 documents (the Worcester
State College Financial Aid Application and the FAFSA) must be completed and
submitted to the Financial Aid Office before the application review process can
begin. The student's full name and student ID number should be clearly indicated
at the top of all documents submitted. Reminder: A student must complete and submit both forms anew for each academic year they wish to receive financial aid in. 1.
Worcester State College Financial Aid Application A
Worcester State College Financial Aid Application is required for all students
who wish to be considered for financial aid (including Federal loans) and is
available from the Financial Aid Office.
2.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) The
College requires students to complete the FAFSA to apply for Federal Pell Grant,
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant, State Scholarships, Worcester
State College Tuition Waivers, Federal Subsidized Stafford Student Loan, Federal
Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loans and Federal Work Study. The
FAFSA must be filed after January 1 of each year and, as recommended by the
College, before March 1. For Worcester State College to receive the information
from the FAFSA the student must indicate the College's name and Federal Title IV
code (002190) on the FAFSA. The FAFSA may be obtained from your high
school guidance office, the Worcester State College Financial Aid Office or from
any local college or online at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. It
takes approximately four to six weeks for the Federal Processing Center to
process an application that is mailed to them or one to two weeks for those
submitted on-line and to forward its analysis to
each institution listed on the FAFSA, and to state scholarship agencies.
You should also expect to receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) within the same
time period. Students
may also complete the FAFSA on the Web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students
who have applied for financial aid in prior years should have already been
provided with a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that can be used to
complete the FAFSA on the Web (FOTW). Students, and their parents, who are applying for
financial aid for the first time may apply for a PIN at http://www.pin.ed.gov.
Your PIN may serve as a signature for the FAFSA on the Web and allows you to
access your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education
systems. However the initial request for a PIN may take up to 10 days to
process, a point to keep in mind when following time deadlines. *Just
a reminder - if you file a FAFSA on the Web and do not already have a PIN you
must print out a signature page, sign and mail it to the address listed on the
FOTW within 14 days of completing the FAFSA. One
to three weeks after you submit your FOTW, you will receive a Student Aid Report
(SAR). This report confirms the information reported on your application
and will tell you what your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is.
You may add Worcester State College to an already existing FAFSA
by calling (800) 433-3243.
You will need to know your DRN number, located in the upper right hand corner of page 1
of your SAR, and the Worcester State College Federal School Code of 002190. Renewal
of financial aid eligibility must be re-established each award year.
Students must complete the entire application procedure for each year they seek
financial aid. The
Financial Aid Office verifies complete financial aid applications selected for
Verification by the U.S. Department of Education or by the College.
Verification ensures that students and parents have accurately reported the
information used to determine eligibility for financial aid. The
Financial Aid Office will notify applicants in writing if additional information
or documents are required or if changes have to be made to original information
as a result of Verification. Applicants are asked to submit requested
information within two weeks of receipt of our request. Once Verification is
complete, an applicant's eligibility for financial aid is determined and the
applicant is notified in writing of his/her eligibility for financial aid. The
following forms should be submitted only when a student has been selected for
Verification and/or has been asked to submit them by the Financial Aid Office. This
is only a partial list of additional documents. Any other forms that we
request will be sent to you to be completed and returned to the Financial Aid
Office. All
information given to the Financial Aid Office is confidential and protected
under the right to privacy act. Federal

determine an award package which typically consists of a combination of grants,
loans, and/or employment. A

aid. Students are requested to return the acceptance copy of the award letter by
the due date indicated if they are accepting or declining an offer of a federal
