Those who must seek external
resources to accomplish project work need an easy-to-use process to
plan, solicit, select a source, and manage a contract. The objective of
effective procurement is to obtain defect-free goods and services. These
goods and services must be obtained from qualified suppliers, in a
timely manner, and at the lowest total cost of ownership.
In this workshop, participants will
explore the system of laws and regulation that guide procurement and the
management of contracts. They will compare several pricing strategies,
and will clarify their roles in working with the Purchasing Department
and Legal Department. They will also gain practice in the art of
negotiation.
