| Using computer
tools on a project can be a real help or a hindrance.
Such tools are only effective when used with discrimination.
Intelligently used, computer tools can increase the user's ability to plan
and manage more effectively. Building the participant's fundamental knowledge of
project management, this program shows when and how to use computer
tools to really help manage a project.
MS Project demonstrates to participants how to enhance
their planning by using computer tools to
construct a work breakdown structure (WBS), create a network diagram,
and probabilistically predict a schedule. Participants will also learn how to
track projects easily, coordinate resources, measure progress
accurately, and manage serious changes along the way. Tools include
MS project and other software such as Excel and Word. The program
provides tips on how to create tailored reports, update the status of
projects in just a few minutes a week, and revise plans
quickly. At the end of this workshop participants will understand both the
benefits and the limitations of computer tools.
