Entrepreneurship Certificate Program |
|
General
Information |
| The desire to run one's own
business is strong among many people at all ages. A survey by Junior
Achievement revealed that 78% of young people want to own their own business
someday. In a recent article, USA Today reports that the number of
self-employed workers over the age of 50 has jumped 23% since 1990. Plainly,
starting and running one's own business is a viable alternative to
traditional employment for many Americans. Entrepreneurs are also the engine
that creates new opportunity in the economy. |
| |
| Running one's own business,
however, requires a different skill set than working for someone else. The
Small Business Administration reports that 33% of startups fail within the
first four years because their owners underestimate the skills they will
need and the expenses they will face. |
| |
| The Entrepreneurship Certificate
Program is a series of six courses which prepare participants to start and
operate their own businesses successfully. Taught by successful
entrepreneurs, the complete program consists of twelve days of training. |
