Ideas for Employers: How to Establish and Maintain an Effective Campus Presence Get to know your audience. Obtain a "Quick Facts" brochure or college catalog from our office. These documents will provide details about the college’s fields of study and about our students. Establish an internship program. If you can provide pre-professional learning experiences with appropriate supervision, an internship will provide many benefits to both you and to our students. Be prepared to pay, or provide a stipend for the best responses from candidates. When your interns return to campus, they will tell others about their good experiences with your organization and create ongoing interest. Connect with student groups. If you have materials that you would like distributed to student groups, contact Career Services and we will advise you regarding the most effective methods. Reserve an information table in the Student Center. Many employers reserve tables throughout the school year to speak with students and faculty and to hand out informational materials and applications. Contact Jillian Anderson, Employer Relations Coordinator. Advertise your openings in "The Student Voice", the campus newspaper. The phone number is (508) 754-2313. Use your campus visit as an opportunity to connect with faculty. The college catalog contains the names of faculty in each department. Consider creative strategies such as offering scholarships. Inform our office about any Worcester State College alumni working for you who might be interested in serving on career panels, participating in networking events, or providing shadowing opportunities. Your former interns could also be invited to serve on career panels. We are always seeking to expand our alumni network and it is great publicity for your organization. If you have a website, be certain to include the address on job listings and other information. We strongly encourage students and alumni to research organizations before applying to ensure a good match. If you have any questions, please contact our office for further assistance. For information on graduate studies at Worcester State College visit
