Worcester, MA - The Worcester State College volleyball team defeated the Leopards of Wentworth Institute Saturday afternoon, 3-0, in Lancer Gym on the campus of Worcester State College.

The Lancers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead winning the first set 30-23. Worcester led 2 sets to 0, taking the second set 30-20. The Lancers were able to sweep the match with a third set margin of 30-17.

Worcester State was led by junior Rochelle Lavoie (Fall River) who led the Lancers with 10 assists and 6 kills on the afternoon.

The victory improves Worcester State’s record to 10-4 on the season while Wentworth falls to 3-14.

The Lancers will be back in action on Thursday when they play host to Salem State. Wentworth is off until next weekend when they participate in the UMass-Dartmouth Tournament.
