Ashley Nye Named MASCAC Co-Player of the Week

Worcester, MA – Worcester State softball catcher Ashley Nye (Marion, MA) has been named Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference softball Co-Player of the Week for her efforts last week in helping the Lancer to three wins.  This is the first time in her career that she has earned the honor.  She shares the accolades with MCLA’s Rachel Desautels.

The junior catcher batted .421 for the week as the Lancers went 3-2. Nye concluded the week with a tremendous day in Worcester State's sweep of Mass Maritime on Sunday. On the day, Nye was 6 for 9 with four RBI, a pair of doubles and five runs scored.

Nye and the Lancers are currently, 2-2, in the MASCAC and will travel to Westfield State on Saturday fr a conference doubleheader against the Owls.
