Worcester State Women’s Track and Field team competed at MASCAC and New England Alliance Championship held at Rhode Island College. The Women’s team finished 3rd with 84 points in the MASCAC. The team trailed Bridgewater State by 2 points for second. Westfield State won the meet with 267 points. The Lancers had two conference Champions, Kara Antrim won the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.59 to defend her title. Freshman Liz Malone won the Discus with a toss of 97’6”. Malone scored in the Javelin with a 5th place, Shot Put with a 3rd place. Antrim set a new school record in the 3000 Steeple Chase, and qualified for the Division 3 New England Championship next weekend at Coast Guard Academy in New London CT. Senior Lindsay Shield finished strong in the 800 meters to grab 3rd with a time of 2:30.08. Shields scored 6th in the 5000, was member of the 4x100, and 4x400. Junior Becky Kniss finished 6th in the Steeple and was a member of the 4x100, and 4x400. Junior Adrienne Fisher finished 2nd in the 10000 meters. Freshman Andrea Ouellette finished 3rd in the 100 Hurdles, 5th in the Long Jump, and a member of the 4x100. Freshman Jill Rollins scored in the Hammer 3rd with a personal best 109’1”, Discus 4th with 85’1”. Freshman Rachael Armenti finished 6th in the Javelin 87’6”, and 5th in the Discus 81’3”. Freshman Angela Roux finished 6th in the 400 meters. The 4x400 relay of Shields, Roux, Antrim, and Kniss finished 2nd. The 4x100 relay of Shields, Roux, Kniss, and Ouellette finished 3rd.
