Cush Named to d3kicks.com All-American 3rd Team
Worcester, MA- Worcester State senior midfielder Lauren Cush (Hudson, MA) continues to receive postseason honors in the wake of the Lancers’ historic women’s soccer season. Cush was recently named to the d3kicks.com All-American 3rd Team. Cush was also named to the All New England region first team. She was joined on the All-Region team by fellow senior Kelsey Irish (Hudson, MA) who was named to the 3rd team. The team, which advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 for the first time in school history, fell to eventual sectional champion Western Connecticut State University in double overtime. The Lancers finished with a 16-6 overall record.
Cush has already been honored as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference women’s soccer Player of the Year for the second time in her career was also named to both the NSCAA 1st Team All-New England team as well as to the NEWISA 1st Team. Last season, Cush was named to the NSCAA 2nd Team. Cush who was a co-captain of this year’s team earned All-MASCAC 1st Team honors all 4 years of her career.
Irish earned 4th team NSCAA All-New England honors for the first time earlier was also chosen to the All-MASCAC 1st team for the first time in her career this season. Irish was twice named MASCAC Player of the Week this season and finished the year second on the team in scoring with 8 goals and 6 assists.
