Cush Named to NSCAA 1st Team All-New England

The post season accolades continue to pour in for
the Worcester State College women’s soccer team.
The team, which advanced to the NCAA Division III
Sweet 16 for the first time in school history fell
to eventual sectional champion Western Connecticut
State University in double overtime. The team
finished with a 16-6 overall record.
Senior midfielder Lauren Cush (Hudson, MA) who earlier in the year was selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference women’s soccer Player of the Year for the second time in her career has been named to both the NSCAA 1st Team All-New England team as well as to the NEWISA 1st Team. Last season, Cush was named to the NSCAA 2nd Team. Cush who was a co-captain of this year’s team earned All-MASCAC 1st Team honors all 4 years of her career.
Joining Cush on the All New England team is fellow co-captain Kelsey Irish (Hudson, MA) who earned 4th team honors. This was Irish’s first All-New England selection after being chosen to the All-MASCAC 1st team for the first time in her career this season. Irish was twice named MASCAC Player of the Week this season and finished the year second on the team in scoring with 8 goals and 6 assists.
Additionally, junior Tiffany Rotatori (Auburn, MA) was selected to the All-NEWISA 2nd Team. Rotatori was named to the All-MASCAC 2nd team earlier this year. Rotatori was the offensive star for the Lancers’ historic run in the NCAA tournament. The junior scored four of Worcester State’s five goals in the tournament including a dramatic goal in the 89th minute to send their Round of 16 game to overtime. Rotatori finished the season with a team leading 13 goals and 3 assists.
