BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Junior forward Tiffany Rotatori (Auburn, MA) tallied a pair of goals and freshman keeper Erin Doherty (Uxbridge, MA) turned aside 7 shots, as the Worcester State College Lancers shut out the host Bears of Bridgewater State, 3-0, this afternoon in Bridgewater.

Senior midfielder Kelsey Irish (Hudson, MA) opened the scoring in the 19th minute as she tallied her fourth goal of the season.  Irish took advantage of a misplayed ball off a direct kick attempt and easily knocked the ball into the back of the net.

Rotatori then took over from there as she potted goals number six and seven on the season.  She gave the Lancers a 2-0 halftime lead off an assist from senior midfielder Lauren Cush (Hudson, MA) in the 39th minute.  Rotatori put the finishing touches on the game with her second goal of the day in the 79th minute off an assist from junior forward Amanda Santos (Milford, MA).

Doherty recorded her MASCAC leading fifth solo shutout of the season in goal for Worcester.  Bridgewater netminder Kayla Grover (Haverhill, MA) made 7 saves between the pipes for the Bears.

Bridgewater State (6-5-1, 2-1-1 MASCAC) is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 as the Bears host Plymouth State University.  Worcester (9-5, 4-1 MASCAC) travels to Nichols College on Tuesday afternoon for a 4 o’clock match with the Bison.
