Worcester State Rolls Past WPI, 4-0

Senior Kim Massa (Westford, MA)
collected four saves to register her fourth consecutive shutout in Worcester
State’s 4-0 road win at WPI on Tuesday evening. The
Lancers, who have not been scored upon this season,
improve to 4-0 while WPI dips to 3-2 on the season.
Worcester State broke open a tight 1-0 game at the
half with three second half tallies. Lauren Cush
(Hudson, MA) scored in the 60th minute off an
assist from Amanda Santos (Milford, MA)
before Katelyn Bonetti (Plymouth, MA) netted
a pair of unassisted markers in the 77th and 90th
minutes. The Lancer defense was outstanding in front
of Massa, limiting WPI to five shots.
WPI goalkeeper Nicole DeCampo (Stoneham, MA)
was credited with a pair of saves while Jocelyn
Moody (Bainbridge Island, WA) paced the
Engineers offensive attack with a pair of shots.
WPI will continue a string of matches versus MASCAC
opponents when they head north to face Fitchburg
State on Saturday afternoon at noon. Worcester State
will take on its fourth straight NEWMAC opponent on
Thursday when they travel to Wheaton for a rematch
of last season’s NCAA Tournament first round
contest.
