North
Adams, MA - Leading 25-19 at the half, Worcester State took advantage of 12
second half MCLA turnovers to improve to 3-1 in the MASCAC. In the first half
the Trailblazers spread out their scoring among nine players. The Lancers only
had five players on the board contributing to their 19 for the half. Both teams
were plagued by turnovers and low shooting percentages. In addition to the half
time lead, another bright spot for the Trailblazers is they held a 28-17
rebounding margin, a stat they excel at in most games.
In the second half, Worcester State battled back behind the scoring and
rebounding of Lindsay DelleChiaie who finished with a double-double at 10 each,
she also contributed seven steals on the afternoon. The Lancers' Maureen Lemay
collected he own 10-10 double-double. It was the quick play of Erin McCullough
that helped give Worcester the win as she scored a team high 13 points. MCLA did
battle hard on the defending end, but a low shooting percentage on the game
(25%) proved to be the difference. Laura Silverman continued to be a force on
the boards for the Trailblazers as she finished with ten. Taylor Kenyon finished
the game with six points but made a big impact on the game with six steals.
MCLA (8-6, 1-2) travels to Salem State on Tuesday the 29th for a 6:00pm tip-off.
Worcester State (5-11, 3-1) will host Bridgewater State on Tuesday the 29th for
