February 6, 2007 Lancer Women Roll Past Framingham State, 73-39 (Courtesy Framingham State Sports Information) Framingham, MA- The Worcester State College women’s basketball team coasted to an easy 73-39 victory on the road today over the Framingham State College Lady Rams. With the win, the Lancers improve to 5-4 in conference play and 12-9 overall, while the Rams slide to 0-9 in the MASCAC and 3-13 overall. Worcester States defense forced the Rams to commit 27 turnovers on the day and held the Rams to a dismal 25% shooting from the floor (15 of 61). The Lancers were able to overcome their 24 turnovers in the game as they shot considerable better from the floor 25 of 57 (44%). Senior forward Rachel Odugbela (Providence, RI) led the Lancers with a game high 19 points as she connected on 8 of 11 shots from the floor including 2 of 3 from three point range. Senior forward Tracey Ducasse (Malden, MA) and freshman Bri Flanders (Southampton, MA) added 12 and 11 points respectively, while senior Jackie Jenkins (Ashland, MA) chipped in 6 assists and 6 steals. Freshman Toya Chester (Leominster, MA) once again had a good game for the Rams as she chipped in 12 points and 5 boards. Junior Christina Bordini (Chelmsford, MA), the Rams leading scorer this season, struggled from the floor for only 6 points today but chipped in a team high 8 boards. The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Salem UMass Boston on Thursday for 5:30 tip off, while the Lancers travel to Springfield College on Thursday at 7:00.
