BABSON PARK, MA - Junior Caitlin Boulier (Wolcott, CT) scored a game-high 24 points as the Babson College women’s basketball team defeated visiting Worcester State College, 68-55, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday night. With the win, the Beavers head into their holiday break with a record of 3-4, while the Lancers fell to 5-2.

Babson took control of the game midway through the first half, as Boulier scored five points during a 16-0 run that turned a 12-8 deficit into a 24-12 advantage with seven minutes remaining. Worcester State eventually whittled the lead down to seven (34-27) at the break, and a jump shot by junior Lindsay DelleChiaie (Leominster, MA) to start the second half pulled the Lancers to within five at 34-29. However, Babson responded with a 14-4 run to push their advantage to 15 with 12:34 left, and Worcester State got no closer than nine the rest of the way.

Boulier shot 9-for-17 from the field and 4-for-5 from the line for her game-high 24 points, while senior captain Colleen Burke (Pittsfield, MA) added 11 points and six rebounds. Senior Suzy Ward (North Attleboro, MA) also hit double figures with 10 points, and juniors Nicole McManus (Baldwinsville, NY) and Bekie Berg (West Brookfield, MA) each pulled down a team-best seven rebounds.

DelleChiaie led Worcester State with 16 points and five rebounds, while senior tri-captain Rachael Odugbela (Providence, RI) added 14 points and six boards.
