Maritime Overtakes Worcester State 78-73

Keene, NH - Maine Maritime Academy overcame a 12 point first half
deficit to post a 78-73 come-from-behind win over Worcester State College in the
second first-round game of the KSC Holiday Tournament at Spaulding Gym on
Saturday.
MMA (9-0) will face host Keene State in Sunday's championship game
at 3 p.m. Worcester State (6-3) will take on St. Joseph's College of Vermont in
the consolation contest at 1 p.m.
Julia Knights (Brookton, Me.) had 24 points and Michelle Gott-Stilwell
(Tremont, Me.) added 22 points to lead the Lady Mariners.
Trailing 42-30 at the half, MMA took it first lead of the game
(55-54) on a basket by Kelsi Eiane (Harpswell, Me.) with 9:47 to go. There
were four lead changes until a three-point basket by Gott-Stilwell put the Lady
Mariners up for good (63-60) with 5:11 to play.
Lindsay DelleChiaie (Leominster, Mass.) led four Lancer
double-figure scorers with 17 points. Rachel Odugbela (Providence, R.I.) had 16
points, Maureen Lemay (Nashua, N.H.) added 15 points and eight rebounds, and
Brittany Rheault (Oxford, Mass.) finished with 12 points for WSC.
