January 16, 2007 Lancer Women Hoopsters Defeat Framingham, 62-51

– The Worcester State College women’s basketball team won their first
Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference game of the season defeating
the visiting Rams of Framingham State by the final score of, 62-51, Tuesday
evening in Lancer Gymnasium. The win improves Worcester State to 8-6 (1-2
MASCAC) while Framingham State falls to 6-6 (0-3 MASCAC).
The teams traded the lead early in the second half and the
Rams led, 37-35, at the 11:38 mark before Worcester State went on a 10-0 run
to take a, 45-37, lead with 8:33 remaining which proved to be the difference
in the contest as Framingham State was unable to get the deficit to less
than 6 points. Framingham was led by Bordini with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Junior Robin Morrow (Belmont, MA) and Hart each finished with 10 points each. Hart also chipped in with 5 assists on the night. Worcester State returns to action on Thursday when they host non-conference opponent Tufts University. Framingham State will travel to Babson College on Thursday. ##### |
