Worcester State opened up a 23-20 halftime lead over Babson despite both teams shooting poorly from the field. Junior point guard Kathy Ward (Fall River, MA) led the Lancers in scoring in the half with 6 points. Babson was paced by April Suprey (Quincy, MA) with 5 first half points.

Worcester State opened up to a 7 point lead in the first moments of the second half before Babson began chipping away. Babson took their first lead of the second half at the 3:55 mark on a shot by Erin Conroy (Old Greenwich, CT) giving the Beavers a 45-44 lead. Worcester State fought right back as two buckets by Amanda Kowal (Oxford, MA) gave WSC a 48-45 lead with 1:29 remaining.

A 2 pointer by Colleen Burke (Pittsfield, MA) at the 1:05 mark and a bucket from Suprey with 32 seconds left gave Babson a 49-48 lead. Worcester State gained possession with 10.9 on the clock but a last second shot failed giving Babson the win.

Babson was led by Conroy and Sheila Nanjego (Malden, MA) who finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 14 points, 10 rebounds respectively. Worcester State was led by junior Donna Zwemke (Ware, MA) who had 12 points and 11 boards as well as Ward who finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

With both schools entering exams, the Lancers will not return to action until their visit to the West Coast where they will participate in the Dominican University Tournament on 12/29-30 in San Francisco. Babson will next take to the court on the 29th as well as they play in the Salem State Tournament.
