Comes From Behind, 2-1

WESTFIELD – Worcester State scored
two second half goals to rally for a
2-1 Mass. State Conference men’s
soccer victory over Westfield State
on Saturday evening, Oct. 20.
Worcester moved into
second place in the conference with
a 4-1-1 record; the Lancers are
9-6-2 overall. Westfield saw its
three-game win streak snapped and
dropped to 2-4 and 6-9.
The Owls opened the
scoring in the 12th minute on a
header goal by Jeff Trudeau on a
strong throw-in by Chris Spicer.
Worcester tied the
score in the 47th minute on a goal
by Anthony Escobar (Leicester).
Junior forward Brian Andrade
(Hudson) scored the game-winning
goal in the 85th minute, with an
assist from Matt Brothers (Auburn).
Worcester outshot
Westfield, 16-5, including a 10-3
first-half advantage. Westfield
keeper Mark Tiffany recorded five
saves.
