Will Spont Named MASCAC Co-Player of the Week

Worcester, MA - Worcester State College senior Will Spont (Bellingham, MA) has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference’s men’s basketball Co-Player of the Week for his performance in the Lancer’s 2-0 week.  Spont shares the honor with Salem State’s Alex Finn.

Spont led the Lancers to a pair of impressive wins on the week averaging 22.5 points per game as Worcester State beat Regis College and Clark University. In the 84-70 win over Regis, Spont scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.  In the 86-70 win over Clark, Spont scored a game-high 27 points on 11 of 17 shooting from the field.

Spont is leading the Lancers in rebounding this season with a 9.2 rebound per game average.  He is also second in scoring average with a 14.8 points per game average.

Spont and the rest of the Lancers will return to action on December 14-15 when they travel to the Buffalo State Tournament.
